separate classes by sections on all canvas platforms (super helpful). why did this feature go away??? It's crazy that I have to even take time out of my day to make this an idea to chat about. Are we working backwards in time? Why is this feature gone?

The exact terminology you're using in your idea doesn't seem like something that aligns directly with Canvas.  It sounds similar to Canvas' de-cross-list functionality (How do I de-cross-list a section in a course), though perhaps I'm interpreting incorrectly.  Could you possibly provide any additional detail about the functionality you used to have but no longer do?  It may have been part of a school/institution customization or perhaps part of the student information system which usually sends data to Canvas but is a unique system.  If it is something outside of Canvas, school/institution Canvas team may have more details about what changed and potential solutions to help you out.  If you could ask your local team and/or provide more details here we can further evaluate the idea.
