Android will not allow me to select Light or Dark mode to place widget, does not work

I am trying to place a widget for the Canvas app on my homescreen on my Google Pixel 7Pro-

I am able to select the widgets and move them to the place on my homescreen I would like them to be, but then a popup appears that asks me to select either light or dark mode and if I want to hide details on the widget. It refuses to allow me to select either light or dark, and the only way to do anything on my phone once this appears is to swipe the page away and then the widget disappears and does not get set up.

Yep, same here.  Two different Android devices and both hang with the Light/Dark selection

Same issue for me, exactly as described. I hope this is resolved as the widget feature is super useful.

Hi! Thank you for sharing this issue in the Instructure Community. Has anyone shared this with Canvas Support? If there are multiple reports, it may be that there is a ticket they can link your case with. That means you'd automatically receive updates too!

Same issue. The widget for canvas was working great since I installed it early this year. I accidentally deleted it yesterday and now I can't add the widget back. It sucks because having the widget right there on my home screen displaying all my Todos for assignments really helped me stay on track of my work

Exact same here. Although it is worth mentioning that I am not having this issue with any other widgets besides Canvas.

Same thing is happening to me. I accidentally deleted my widget and I can't bring it back. I feel incomplete without the notification widget. 😔
