Adding a staff member

I would like to add a staff member to a past subject but I receive the message "You do not have permission to use this tool"

Hi @mwalnutaki -

I wonder if your course availability is preventing you from doing so. If you have the ability to do so, you could change the term to which the course is assigned, add the staff member, and then return the course to the correct term.

How do term dates, course dates, and section dates work in Canvas? 

If that doesn't work, there's a chance that your institution adjusted your role/permissions. It would be a great question to bring to your Canvas Administrator or Support Team.
