[ARCHIVED] Adding javascript chat widget to sidebar

Hey all,

I'm very new to canvas and I'm looking at ways to add things to the bottom part of the sidebar (the far right). Basically I want to be able to add a javascript chat-with-a-librarian widget that is always available as a place for students to get help. Has anyone seen an example of this anywhere else?

You could use a custom javascript file and should be able to do it with jQuery.

Something like this --

$( "#right-side" ).append( "html for your library widget" );

OK. It's not fancy, just an image embedded on the right side. Links to our library chat tool.

Ok, new to Canvas (but SysAdmin blackboard & Moodlerooms) where - exactly - does this code insert?  I, too, am trying to put our Librarian widget into Canvas...
