Announcement Archive or Unpublished Button

I noticed over the last 8 years people have asked for a way to save their Announcements for later times or unpublish them. I have certain Announcements, mainly to parents, that I only send out once a year. Since I am not sure what day the following year I will need to make the Announcement, it is hard for me to go in and redate the Publish date so I can use the same Announcement instead of retyping it over and over again. It would be very helpful for me to save the Announcements that I use every year. Please consider adding something that will help me do that. Thank you.

There are a couple options I can think of for the time being that might work for you and the course announcements you want to keep:

• Create a sandbox course in Canvas.  Store your announcements in that course, and when you need to use them, you can copy them into your courses.
• Save a copy of your announcements in an offline setting, and then paste them into new announcements in your Canvas courses when needed.

It sounds like you are requesting enhancements to existing Canvas functionality.  You've posted your comments in an area to ask questions about Canvas.  There's a separate area here in the Community to share Ideas and Themes (formerly Feature Ideas).  I searched the Community a bit, and I found the following theme:
