Is there a system in Canvas for registering all assets made/placed in units (ie. a module on library skills, an interactive on reflective writing) so that they are searchable and easily found to be used again?

This would make things so much easier. Imagine having 140 Canvas classes spread over many years, and looking for one assignment. It gets worse because sometimes Canvas does not let me see the whole name of the class, so if I had 7 "Introduction to Computing" classes a semester for 10 years, that's a lot of "Introduction to Compu..." classes.

If I could:

1. Search for an assignment by title or in the body,

2. Easily preview all the search results,

3. Easily copy the assignment into this course, with an option to easily copy the attachments as well,

Then it would make it so easy to find the best copy of my "Common Features / Welcome to Office" assignment and reuse it.

Sounds like you might want to check out Atomic Search from Atomic Jolt.  Atomic Search is a third-party integration with Canvas that allows you to search your courses for content.  AFAIK (As far as I know), it's a paid product, so you would want to check with your school's Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education team to see if purchasing might be an option.
