I have my students placed in groups in Canvas, and I want to assign a Google Doc for the group to work on. I can create the assignment and then select Google LTI and upload the Google Doc. Then, when I scroll down, the checkbox for "This is a Group Assignment" disappears.
How can I assign a Google Doc as an assignment using the Google LTI tool when my students are assigned in groups?

Hello @JustinLeonard,
Unfortunately, the Google LTI assignment feature does not allow for group assignments. Instead, I recommend that you create a regular group assignment and select online submission as the submission type. In your directions, you can either give each group a Google Doc you want them to use or a template and have the students give you edit/view rights. I hope this helps.

I find this to be a big problem. The previous Google LTI supported Canvas Groups. I would like to use the Google LTI when creating Collaborations, but I can no longer share a document/set of slides/spreadsheet with Groups that I have created in a Canvas Group Set. The whole purpose is to share and collaborate, but if it requires adding one student at a time, it becomes labor intensive, especially in large higher ed courses, where efficiency is just as important as the goal of building community among students through group collaboration. Is this loss of functionality on a road map?
