I'm probably just missing it, but how can I see which students have viewed an Assignment? I know how to go to People and look at details for a specific student, but I want to be more proactive and look at an Assignment and see who has, and hence who hasn't, accessed it. Quizzes have a moderate page that shows this info very clearly - is there something similar for assignments that I'm missing?

Hi there @Gregory_Putman ,
Thanks for asking on the Instructure Community!
If you have the 'New Analytics' tool enabled for your course (located in your course navigation), it can provide you with some information that may be beneficial. While there isn't directly a way to see a full list of which students participated and who haven't in a specific area of your course, it will provide you with information such as when the student last participated in a course, when their last page view was, how many page views they actually have compared to other students in the course, and you can also see a general view of the weekly course activity inside of your course, and see how many students viewed a specific page.

I hope this helps in some way for you, even though it doesn't necessarily provide specific information on which students viewed a specific assignment and who didn't, that would be something to check out access reports for.
All the best to you!
Noah
Hi @Gregory_Putman.
It is not native to Canvas but I sometimes use (I am an admin and parts of it work for teachers) Chrome extension "Canvas LMS Mods (Basic)", made by @Code-with-Ski / @JamesSekcienski.
It is located at Canvas LMS Mods (Basic) - Chrome Web Store, with other information available at Creating a Chrome Extension to Use with Canvas LMS... - Instructure Community - 532935 and https://code-with-ski.
The extension has an expanded, "User Access Report" that can be helpful for something like this.

Hi Noah,
Thanks for mentioning the new analytics. I think I viewed that in the past and didn't really see what I needed. I don't remember quite all the info that I find there today, so there have likely been additions since my first view.
I may also have only been accessing new analytics via specific students from the people page, not the overall link in the course menu. That gives more of an overview. I think I am actually finding most of what I'm interested in seeing in new analytics, but it takes multiple mouse clicks to get there.
It would be great to have an option added to the drop down menu next to the titles in the grade center for a moderate pane for both quizzes and assignments. (and add a moderate pane for assignments).
I appreciate your help, very nearly what I need but is a great help,
Greg
