Assignment Upload issues

Every time I try to upload an assignment in my Canvas web account, I keep getting this error message. I have tried BOTH the drag and drop feature directly from my files AND the "Choose a File to Upload" option. Both give me this error. This has happened several times during this semester and I fear it will be a continuous problem throughout my courses. I have also tried to upload through "More" using my Office 365 account. Once I get to the last step which says to "attach file", then the Submit Assignment icon disappears. 

Has anyone else every had any of these problems? What do I do?

Hi @NinaDuflo ...

I'm not sure if you have tried this yet, but I'll ask anyway...  have you tried saving your file to your computer and then attaching it from your computer (rather than selecting from previously uploaded files or files from your Microsoft OneDrive)?  I wasn't real clear on your question if you had tried that or not.  If you haven't done that, please give that a shot to see if it works.

This is just general guidance since we don't have access to your school's Canvas environment or your course(s) that you are taking.  You should also contact your instructor (if you haven't done that yet) to let him/her know you are having difficulties uploading your assignment attachment.

Hi Chris - my apologies, I do not understand what you are asking. I work on an assignment in Word and save it to my school folder which is on my laptop computer. In the photos I shared in my initial post, Canvas has a drag and drop for the files or a "click here and upload" section. I have tried both of those, as well as the Office 365 option. 

I have contacted my instructor and our helpdesk and no one has helped me. I was advised to clear my history/cache and given this website.

Hi @NinaDuflo ...

It sounds like you are doing everything correctly.  Have you tried using a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome?  I've even had good success using the Microsoft Edge browser on my Windows 11 laptop.  You can find information on compatible browsers on What are the browser and computer requirements for Instructure products?.
