Assignment publish/post

Why Canvas does not have a post/publish date for assignments? This would be extremely helpful. I do not view this date to be the same as available date. This was very useful in Google Classroom.

Thank you for contacting the Canvas Community. We're sorry to hear you've been experiencing issues with viewing publish dates on assignments. Right now, that isn't a feature on Canvas regularly - although you can view those details with API. For  regular use and view, it hasn't been implement but  it is a great idea and suggestion.

@greydon could you explain where "you can view those details with API"?

The Assignments API doesn't appear to have post/publish date for assignments? Unless I'm just missing it somewhere... totally possible.

Seems pretty asinine that as an instructor I am not able to view a history of the posted dates of my own assignments.
