Assignments on canvas calendar

On my canvas I can clearly see my assignments on my calendar, however when I click them rather than it bringing me to the assignment it just brings me to the entire class. Does anyone know how to fix this?

The assignments may not be available to you yet.  Do you see them if you go to the Assignments area of the course?

Yes, the class has started and I have even completed a few of them since I asked this. Like if I have a discussion and I see it on the calendar it just brings me straight to the course home page.
