Assistance with Attendance Tracking Feature in Canvas LMS.

One of my clients has requested an attendance tracking feature in Canvas LMS with the following requirements:

1. The ability to track student attendance details.
2. Support for classes that occur more than three times a day.
3. The capability to grade attendance as an activity and display it in the Gradebook.

Currently, the client has an attendance platform; however, it is not LTI-compliant and, therefore, cannot be directly integrated with Canvas LMS.

Could you please advise on any potential workarounds or solutions? Additionally, if there are practices or tools commonly used by other institutions to meet similar requirements, I would appreciate any insights you can share.

Here is the guide on how to use the Roll Call Attendance Tool that is available in Canvas. Please note that your institution must enable the Attendance tool before it can be used in Canvas courses. This tool can track attendance and other details and sync attendance grades to the Canvas Gradebook.

However, to have the Attendance Tool represent three or more attendance periods in one day, you may need to experiment with creating a new custom badge or another method of taking attendance.

Hello @DeveshMishra - San Diego State University (Canvas LMS institution) partnered with K16 Solutions to track attendance. You can read the announcement here. But, yes, the K16 Solutions platform can track all that.
