Automatic Peer Review for Assignments without a Due Date

I have assignments that require peer reviews. I created the assignment; and followed the instructions. The students are to complete the assignment (Lesson Plan with Rubric) first, After that, I'd like the Peer Review to be automatically generated.

 

I created a second assignment for the students to upload their peer review for my grade. But the Peer Reviews are not being automatically assigned. When I access the assignment, 'Peer Reviews"

All the students are listed, but under each student's name is says:

And then I have to go into the assignment and manually choose it. This is not ideal when students do their work at midnight, and I am sleeping :-).

It should be noted that the peer reviewed assignments do NOT have a due date; so I cannot input a date. Is this the reason the automatic peer review ass

Hi Jen,
Yes, I read those; I think possibly there may be a number of issues:

1. My university department does not use due dates; students have 3 weeks to 1 year to complete their coursework: First Link: "You can also tell Canvas to automatically assign peer reviews after an assignment due date has passed.
2. Second Link: Seems to suggest that a student can do a review simply by completing the assignment: "Note: Students can only view peer review assignments after they have submitted work to the assignment."
   1. Additionally, it appears that I may have created the Peer Review 'outside the box' as I also want to grade the Peer Review.
3. Third link; once I can figure out a way to grade both the student's assignment AND their Peer Review, I may have to recreate the assignment; it looks like link 3 may be helpful.
