Can I change the settings in quizzes after a student has taken their quiz

When students take a quiz, I have it set to where they can only attempt it once and see their final grade. 

I would like to be able to go back into the settings and open up a second attempt for retakes as well as for students to see their right and wrong answers to do test reflections. Is there a way to do this?

I did go back in and change my settings, but my students were unable to see their first attempt (it just loaded forever), and when they tried a second attempt, it said there was an error.
