Can I cross-list two separate courses (not sections)?
I teach Clay Sculpture I and II (or sometimes an Advanced Ceramics section) in the same class. I'd like to have 1 Canvas course for them, especially right now during COVID, but the cross-listing instructions imply that they're only referring to sections of the same course. Also, entering the 2nd course as per the instructions isn't bringing up my 14 students from the other course.

Not sure if you ever received an answer to this or not, but I think it is possible, but the crosslisting needs to happen before the course is published. Here is a knowledge based article on this topic: Article - Canvas: Crosslisting Courses
If you can't access it with this link, email me at jlm525@msstate.edu.

Hello jrthompson...
@jlm525 is correct that cross-listing two courses together should ultimately done before the classes actually start. Cross-listing courses only moves enrollments from one course to another...so that students from both courses are logging into one course. From an instructor's point of view, he/she can see the students via the "People" tab separate out by each course. In addition to the link that Jamey provided to you, there is also a Guide here in the Community that would be of help:
How do I cross-list a section in a course as an instructor?
If you are not able to cross-list two courses on your own, you will need to reach out to your school's local Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department who could do this for you...keeping in mind the things we've mentioned above and the information in the blue box of the link I provided.
I hope this extra bit of information will be o help to you, Jessica. Sing out if you have any questions. Be well...stay safe.
