I have consistently had requests from students asking how they can mark pages "complete" in their Canvas calendar after working through them. The "Mark Done" option is okay but it doesn't show up on the calendar for assigned pages and so they are often frustrated with having to look in different places for what has to be done (even with regular announcements and checklists provided by me).
I was excited to see the new "Assign to" feature for pages, as I thought it might have now been built in, but seemingly, it has not.
I know the "to-do" and "Assign to" features are different but is there now a way to create this option for students for pages (and assignments that are completed early, since I'm asking)?
Thank you!
Suzanne

In Canvas pages are sources of information, assignments are things that need to be done, and so the system tracks and reports on them differently.
You could go the route of using an assignment instead of a page for a required reading, even using a quiz which requires the student to self certify they have read the content.
Or you could reference required readings within assignments

In response to the original question, many of my younger students feel frustrated when constantly searching through completed assignments to find the one they need. We are a middle/high school that has come on board and are using Canvas with young students who have experience with a user-friendly format for their age. If there was a way to visually mark or change complete assignments in an obvious visual way, that would be very helpful for recognition and organization. Thanks!
