Can't enter grade

I can't enter grade from gradebook or speedgrader for 2 students. It gives me this message after I enter the grade and hit enter. 

There was a problem updating the submission.

This might be a bit hard to troubleshoot here since none of us have access to your school's Canvas environment or your course in question.  Have you tried using a different web browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome to enter your grades?  You might even try the Microsoft Edge browser if you are on a Windows PC.  Another option might be to try and clear your browser history/cache, close your browser, and then try logging back in to your course to see if you are able to enter grades for those students.
