Correcting Canvas email in student account

We roster Canvas from Infinite Campus. A student's account has the correct email listed but in their settings under Email Addresses there's a red exclamation point that the address was not able to be used for email. The email address is in fact correct. Since there is nothing to correct in the nightly csv from Infinite Campus what is the best method for correcting this error? SIS import with an incorrect email address to overwrite this one, then another import to correct it again? Thank you for your suggestions.

If so, I've had similar situations in my former job. I was able to contact the Canvas Help Desk staff or someone from our Customer Success Team (I can't remember which) that was able to get the "!" removed ... since the e-mail address was also correct in our Canvas environment. Maybe this will work for you as well by having a conversation with Instructure staff.
