Difference between classic and modern quizzes and how to force settings to modern

Hi.

What is the diffrences between classic and modern quizzes that are to require LockDownBrowser, and how do you force set quizzes as always modern quizzes?

We are having different issues between theese two, and prefer to have modern quizzes to be used as standard.

There are two video tutorials here in the Canvas Community that describe the different features of current Classic Quizzes vs. New Quizzes:

Also, on the Respondus website, I found the following page for you:

Look under the categories for "Watch the Overview Video" and "Learn how to prepare an exam" for specific videos on Canvas.  (Note, under the "Overview" category, I noticed that the Classic Quizzes video is quite old and shows the old Canvas interface, but I would assume the LockDown browser settings are still similar.)

As for only wanting to use New Quizzes... in my own sandbox course, when I go to my "Quizzes" index page and click on the "+ Quiz" button, I see the following:

Notice there is a check-box at the bottom of this screen.  However, that is only for this course.

One more question. We have not the option to choose between classic or new quizzes. Instead it's automaticaly created classic quiz when we either press quizzes+ button inside a course or we enter a course and creates a new quiz from there. Is there something in our settings that is out of standard, or is there a way to upgrade functionality back to standard?

Are you a Canvas administrator at your school?  If not, you would need to speak with your Canvas admin at your school or someone from their Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Learning department.  They may have plan as to when they will be enabling New Quizzes for you and the other instructors at your school.

If you are a Canvas administrator, you can go to your account page, go to your account "Settings" screen, and then click on the "Feature Options" tab.  Under the heading "Course" (which is about half-way down the screen), there should be an option for "New Quizzes".  There are currently four "states" for New Quizzes:

• Disabled and Locked -- Not available for any instructors with no option at the course level to enable New Quizzes
• Disabled -- Instructors can enable New Quizzes per course via their own course "Settings" >> "Feature Options" tab.
• Enabled and Locked -- Available for any instructors with no option at the course level to disable New Quizzes.
• Enabled -- Instructors can disable New Quizzes per course via their own course "Settings" >> "Feature Options" tab.
