On a discussion board, what am I not able to reply to some students?

The question should be WHY am I not able to hit reply to some students on discussion board? Thanks!

Hi Susan,

It appears that your institution has added students to your course in many different sections with 3-4 students per section.  My guess is that the discussion is set up to have different rights for different sections.  In any event I would recommend that you contact someone in your department or in your technology support org to learn what the original intent was of the person or people who designed the course.

I contacted someone in UITS and I guess I did not have threaded replies on and I  began making a subdiscussion which is like a discussion in a discussion. I have no idea how that happened. It appears to be fixed now.
