We are noticing that users are sporadically sending and receiving duplicate inbox messages. Some people are reporting that when they send a message they get an error ("error occurred while creating conversation message" - image attached) and then hit send again, explaining one part of the problem. But others report no error. Students and teachers alike are geting from 3-35 copies of certain messages. This does not happen consistently with any users, rather, it is showing up sporadically with many users. Any idea why this might be happening or how we can fix it?

We were told by Canvas Support on December 4th: "...we have an open engineering ticket for this that our engineers are looking into. Currently, we don't have an ETA on when the matter will be resolved however I'll attach this case to our internal tracker to ensure you receive updates once they have been made available." Still not resolved.

Thanks! I got exactly the same reply, but it took until two days ago for them to let me know that.
