FITB grading - adding new answers

I know how to add a single answer to an existing FITB question by clicking "add answer" and having to type in a new answer.  But it is a cumbersome process, and when we have a class of 120 or more, having to do this for each answer that could be added (sometimes as many as 8 - 10 additional answers) can become unpractical.  In my previous LMS, all answers given on the quiz were shown on together in a list on one page and the faculty could in one setting read through them all, indicate any that could be considered correct, and do one submission. Then when the new answers are submitted, it automatically regraded the quiz for the entire class.  So if the answer was "Dog" and the student wrote "canine" or "puppy" or "a dog" and so on, those answers were added in one setting. Is Canvas looking at making this process smoother for a FITB additional answer option?

@PatriciaButterb ...

I am not sure if you are using current Classic Quizzes or the New Quizzes quizzing engine in Canvas.  I think I understand what you are asking, but I'm not sure this is completely available like you describe.  If you are not using New Quizzes just yet, you might want to check out this Guide:

How do I create a Fill in the Blank question in Ne... - Instructure Community - 985 (canvaslms.com)

Parts of this might come close to what you're looking for, but I don't think it will meet all of the needs you describe above, unfortunately.

If you aren't using New Quizzes yet, you might want to have a conversation with your school's Canvas administrator or someone from their Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education team to see when they plan on making New Quizzes available to you and the other faculty at your school.

Hope this will help in some way.
