Feature Idea: Mark Items as Urgent

I teach a Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma/Lean class at UCLA Extension.
In one of the exercises, I ask my students to evaluate the constraints of Canvas-as they relate to the students' experience-and using the Six Thinking Hats framework (Edward DeBono), to suggest improvements.
Many students have requested the opportunity to mark assignments or communications (announcements or Canvas inbox) as urgent.
I don't believe there is currently an option. Are there plans to include in a future release?
Thanks!
Tony

Hello @TonyOliver ...
I've noticed that you've submitted multiple topics here in the Community this evening all beginning with "Feature Idea: {Your_Suggestion}". I'm not sure if you are aware of this, but there is a separate space here in the Community where you can submit your ideas for consideration. Instructure asks that you submit one idea per submission, and maybe there is also a chance that someone has submitted something similar already, in which case you wouldn't need to submit again...to avoid duplication of ideas.
But, it's also important to know that the whole idea process is currently going through some changes at the moment, and I'm not exactly sure when the new process will be announced and implemented here in the Community website. I can direct you to this blog posting, though: Turning Your Feedback into Better Prioritization and Release Processes: Our Path Forward.
Once you have read through that blog post, you'll want to review these Guides:
- What is the feature development process for Instructure products?
- How do Ideas work in the Instructure Community?
- What are the guidelines for submitting a new idea?
- How do I create a new idea in the Instructure Community?
I hope these links will be of some help to you as you create your ideas in the ideas space. Good luck!
