Free Draw Annotation Tools

Our students are using Canvas on an iPad in Safari or Chrome. We are unable to use the mobile version due to using Google SSO.  Previously, we have not had an issue when assigning an annotation assignment using the free draw annotation tools. Students are now unable to use any of these tools in Canvas. Any suggestions?
