How do I embed my Canvas profile picture in a circular frame?

One of my professors has their Canvas profile picture apparently embedded right in the text of their syllabus, basically the same circular format that the photo is cropped into as your account profile picture. How do I replicate that on my end? Can't seem to format my profile picture file in any way that crops it into a circular frame in the text of my syllabus.

Hi @JMilas I'd have to see the page to see how they did this, but I'm guessing they edited the photo before uploading it? Have you asked them - I bet they'd be more than happy to share their tricks.

Hi there, @JMilas ...

In addition to @Renee_Carney's thoughts on how the circular profile image was created, I wanted to share another possibility with you.  Since I, too, cannot see your school's Canvas environment, I wonder if your school has purchased the DesignPLUS software that integrates nicely with Canvas.  (If you are not your school's Canvas administrator, you might get in contact with the person who hold this role.)  Within DesignPLUS, there are many tools to enhance the look of your content.  One of those tools lets you modify the look of images that you upload to your course.  In fact, you don't even have to do any kind of edits "offline".  You can upload a square/rectangle photo of yourself, and then you can apply different styles to your image that crop it into different shapes such as a circle or oval.  Cidi Labs (the company that makes DesignPLUS) has a showcase gallery on their website which has some examples of schools that have used DesignPLUS to enhance their courses.  Here are a few I found that have round photos like you are asking about:

There are other examples that you can take a look at on this page which may not have round photos, but you'll at least get an idea of the kinds of things DesignPLUS can do:

I hope these links will also be of help to you.
