I am instructor who created a discussion post. In student view, it does not show up on the student's To Do List so most students missed the deadline. I confirmed that it was open for responses withou an end date. The only way for the students to see it was to click on the Discussion tab but this extra step isn't ideal.
How do I get Discussion Posts and other Assignments to show up in the To Do List?
Thank you!

Hi @EmRem -
The open-ended timeline is likely what caused students to miss this. Assignments, Discussions, and Quizzes need to have a due date for it to be included on the To Do list. If you'd like it to be open long-term, you can always adjust the due date to something later in the term after you collect the initial replies.
What is the difference between assignment due dates and availability dates?
If I misunderstood your question, please let me know! I'd be happy to look into this further with you.
