How do I stop Canvas from always switching to student view?

I am a TA for a course. When I click to a new page in the course, it always says I'm logged into student view at the bottom in a pink banner. I have to click every time to exit student view. How do I default to TA/instructor view?

Welcome, and thank you for posting on the Instructure Community!

Is student view coming to default every time you click on a new page? Or is it only when you first login? This isn't normal behavior on Canvas for TAs or Teachers, as both of them have the exact same view (usually).

I wonder if you're signed onto another device that you were on student view for but never signed out of student view, and it's syncing over to other devices? That could possibly be what's up, too.

The student view happens every time I click on a new page, announcements, an assignment, modules, etc. 
I don't think I'm signed onto another device in student view. This started happening after I cleared my Chrome cache I think...

Oh, that is odd.   I agree with Noah that this is not normal behavior for this. You said you have clicked Exit Student View multiple times (every time).  And I was going to suggest your clear your Cache, but you've already done that!   Very odd indeed.   Can you try logging out and restarting your device?  If that doesn't work, are you able to click on Help in the Global Navigation and contact Canvas Support?

I also agree with the comments from @NoahBoswell and @Hildi_Pardo.  Have you tried a different browser to see if you experience the same behavior?  Generally speaking, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are good browsers to use, but I'll also used Microsoft Edge quite a bit without issues.  Also, by chance to you have a bookmark saved in your current browser that you are clicking on to access Canvas that *might* be taking you into "Student View"?  It's a long shot, but just thought I'd ask.  Here are a couple Guides for you to look at:

• What are the browser and computer requirements for Instructure products? - this one has a built-in browser check on the page for you to use.
• How do I clear my browser cache and cookies? - once you do this, shut down your browser completely, re-start your browser, and then sign back in to Canvas to see if the issue persists or not.
