[ARCHIVED] How to do not count a Quiz towards the final grade

In an Assignment, we have an option to select "Do not count this assignment towards the final grade".

I want to do the same for a Quiz, but there is no such option. Is there another way to achieve the same result?

I do not want to delete the quiz and I want to retain the information about the answers students did (right or wrong).

Hi Cristina,

When you go into the quiz settings you have the choice of making a practice (not for credit) quiz.  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-26507-what-quiz-types-can-i-create-in-a-course

I actually had this same question a few months ago and asked it here.  I figured I would share  @Chris_Hofer ‌'s answer with you as he adds some information that might be useful to you in the future.

To my knowledge, there isn't a way to delete a submission of a quiz by a student.  The best resources I can give you are around moderation of the quiz...depending on which version of Quizzes you are using:

• Once I publish a quiz, how do I use the Moderate Quiz page?
• Once I publish a quiz, how can I give my students extra attempts?
• Once I publish a timed quiz, how can I give my students extra time?
• How do I use the Moderation page in New Quizzes?
• How do I moderate a student's assessment attempt in New Quizzes?
