I was able to find an instructional video on how to pin one discussion board among many in the course (e.g. Week 5 Discussion). But I am particularly interested in how to pin a specific discussion post within a discussion board. For instance, as an instructor, I will pose a question after seeing a few students' responses and I want the question to be placed on the top among the replies for all students to see. Is there a "pin post" option in discussion?
Thank you for reading my post!
Hi @LYANGCPTC ...
Unfortunately, pinning a specific reply within a discussion topic is not possible. You can only pin the topic itself.
I found the following, though:
Hope these links will help a bit.
It's been three years since this question was first posed. It does not seem like a difficult fix. We need to be able to PIN POSTS within a discussion. This is available on just about every discussion board I have ever seen or used. CANVAS: Please come up with a solution to this important element of discussions for instructors/professors.
There seems no way to get canvas to pay attention at all. I am very disappointed that our university switched to canvas--we lost this functionality and no one at Canvas has any interest in requests. The "themes" and "ideas" way of getting Canvas to consider changes appears completely useless--I have tried on this same issue and it went nowhere at all, with someone asking me to submit for idea and theme after I had already done that. Terrible system.
