Hi everyone, I have searched for an answer to this but haven't found one. If it has been answered, please link!
We have shared a full course to Commons. We update the course frequently and thus have been updating the Commons course yearly. Last year, a significant revision meant that we actually deleted two modules. These two modules still exist in Commons. I guess this is because nothing overwrote them, so the assumption was that they are the same, rather than that they should disappear. How do we delete these outdated modules from the Commons version of the course?
Hi @MeganFLC ...
Assuming that you are using the exact same course (the same course shell / Course ID number) that you originally shared to Commons, you would share the course back to Commons, and it should ask you if your new version is an update to what is already there.
How do I update a resource I previously shared to ... - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
It should also allow you to add in some revision notes, too...which is nice for those that will be wondering what changes you may have made compared to what was there in the past.
Hope this helps a bit! Good luck!
Hi @Chris_Hofer,
We have been doing exactly that, updating what is already there. Unfortunately the update process only replaces modules 1-to-1. Since we deleted a couple old modules, there is no direct replacement for them. Thus Commons keeps them - erroneously. What we need is a process to remove modules from the Commons course.
