How do I upload a photo into my assignment

Are you asking as a teacher or as a student?

As a Teacher: This guide will show you how to edit an assignment, which includes the RCE which you would use to upload an image as part of your assignment instructions, How do I add or edit details in an assignment? And these two guides will show you how to use the RCE: How do I embed images from Canvas into the Rich Content Editor as an instructor? How do I embed images from the web in the Rich Content Editor as an instructor?
As a student: Your teacher will first need to set the assignment to permit image uploads. If that has been done, then this guide will help you, https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-10668-421254356

Welcome to the Canvas Community!!!

You should be able to follow the directions at How do I upload a file as an assignment submission in Canvas? . An image is really just another file that you can upload.

If it is a text entry, you will have to use the Rich Content editor:
