I cannot leave a group as a student

I am attempting to leave some groups which I am no longer in as the classes associated ended 2 years ago, but when clicking on the group and then people tab, the only option I am given/showing up is the registered services; I do not have the view user groups option as described in the the instructions for any questions related to answers for 'how to leave a group as a student' on this website. What should I do?

It sounds like you might need to reach out to your past instructor(s) or your school's Online Learning / eLearning / Distance Education department to get assistance with leaving groups within your Canvas environment. Your school may have some policies in place for this kind of thing, so I'd recommend reaching out to folks at your school who should be able to help you sort through this.
