I copied one of my own courses so I could create another section for a different grade band and my edits are showing up in the original course. Any ideas as to what I have done wrong?

Copied Courses are somehow linked to one another and changes reflect immediately.  I checked under settings > sections and neither have any cross sections listed.  I am very new to this and we are not allowed in the office and learning on our own, but I cannot figure out why this is duplicating.  Others copied my course and changes are not duplicating for them.  I'm at a loss.

Welcome to the Community  @christy_stout  .  Are you making the edits before or after copying your course?  If it's after, then the edits will ONLY show up in the course where you are making them.  IF the material is going to be the same for both classes, have you thought about cross-listing your classes?  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12983-4152718703

I am making the changes AFTER I copied, but they are for sure changing on BOTH.  I do not want this to happen and they are not cross-listed.  These are courses offered for two different grade bands so the content materials need to be different.  Both courses are full and both begin on June 1st.  I have already recopied and started over once and it is still doing the same thing.  I am at a complete loss.  I opened the courses side by sided and changed on one and watched it update on the other.  Something is definitely "off".

Do you have the original course listed as a Blueprint?
