My school district is migrating from Schoology to Canvas. Our teachers have created rubrics in Schoology and would like to import them into Canvas. Does anyone have a workflow that has worked for them? Is this even possible? I've been researching this, but I'm not having any luck finding a solution.

Hello @CTroxell,
Thank you for reaching out! To answer your question, yes! You can import rubrics from Schoology into Canvas. This would be done by exporting the files from Schoology as a common cartridge file. Schoology has put out their guide on how to export files in this format -- and they mentioned rubrics in the guide.

Once you export and save the files, you will need to import them into your Canvas course. Here is our guide on how to do this.
Hopefully, that will solve your issue, but let us know if you need anything else.

Hello,
Our school is currently considering moving from Schoology to Canvas and I have been playing around with old courses, exporting them over from Schoology to Canvas. At present, none of the assignments that I created in Schoology with Rubrics have transferred with the set amount of points form the original assignment or the rubric attached to it.
Unless I have missed out a step either with Schoology or Canvas, I do not think the rubric issue has been solved. Is this a question that can be revisited or should I just create a new thread?

Hi there, @msjlhaney ...
I don't have any experience with Schoology, but I do have a question... In Canvas, when you click on the three-lined hamburger menu icon at the top left corner of your screen (just to the left of the word "Test"), the course navigation menu should show. Click on the "Rubrics" course navigation menu. Do you see any of the rubrics you were trying to import from Schoology listed there?
Looking forward to hearing from you soon!
You gave me some hope!
But, just looked and my rubrics section is completely blank.
The fact that there are no points for any of the assignments is interesting. Again, this is the first time I have played around with importing, but I figured that the point value for the assignments would be there. My quizzes have point values, but not the actual values given in the original quizzes created in Schoology.
Good morning,
Thanks for the links above! I did export my rubrics as a common cartridge file. However when I import them into Canvas, none of my rubrics show up - see screenshot. Is it not possible to import rubrics into Canvas? Or am I missing a step? Thanks for any help you can provide.
We imported the IMSCC file. Where are these housed in the Canvas course?
Thank you for the reply! I am looking for the Import Rubric button. Is the Import Rubric button on the horizon as a built-in feature?
