Is there a way to automate certificates of completion when students complete a course?

I am an instructor teaching an on-demand, self-paced course using the Free Canvas platform. Is there a way to automate certificates of completion when participants finish all portions of the course or will I need to issue the certificates manually?

Am I able to set up notifications for when a participant completes a specific assignment (i.e. a posttest)?
