Is it possible to have a setting in the gradebook to where the maximum points deducted for late submissions can be set? I know that the lowest possible grade percentage can be set but I'm wanting late points to be deducted up to a max of 30 points. This would fit with our districts secondary grading guidelines.
Canvas Gradebook allows [teacher]s to set a lowest possible grade percentage as a "floor" for late submissions, ensuring that students do not receive a grade below a specified percentage regardless of how late the work is. However, there is no option to directly cap the late penalty as a maximum number of points (e.g., 30 points). The system provides the ability to set a lowest possible grade percent, but not a maximum point deduction for late penalties. If a minimum grade percent is set (such as 50%), students with very late work will receive that minimum grade, but the deduction itself is not capped at a specific point value. Manual adjustments are required if a fixed maximum point deduction is needed per assignment to comply with district guidelines.
