Linking to previous quiz content from a Lockdown Browser quiz

For my course there is a succession of Lockdown Browser quizzes (quiz 1, quiz 2, etc.). In quiz 2, I need to link students back to their work from quiz 1 so that they can build on it in quiz 2. However, I find when testing "as student", the link to the day 1 quiz works but it gives them full access to the rest of Canvas (it does not block links the way it would on any other site I link to). I need the link to open in a separate tab and block further navigation. I have a colleague who has done this at another institution and it worked for them, so I do believe it to be possible. 

I have tried linking to the quiz through several methods (URL and Course Link) and nothing changes there. 

Any advice?

Hi @kgbanick,

I do not have an exact answer for you (maybe someone else does) but I have a few aspects to consider:

1. try manually adjusting the HTML code for the course link so that it uses the "target" attribute (more information found at https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_a_target.asp)
2. ask your colleague for a copy of the HTML code that they use
3. ask your colleague for a copy of the Canvas course (they could export it, share it with you [through email if it is small enough or using a virtual storage location like Google Drive], and then you could import it [possibly into a blank course to evaluate it and you might need to ask your Canvas team for a blank course])
