Manual enrolment of students and course invitations

When a user is manually enrolled on a course in Canvas, I know a course invitation is generated.  The user will be sent an email and the invitation is also posted at the top of their Canvas Dashboard.  What I was wanting to clarify is how long does the post at the top of the dashboard remain visable?  For example, if a user is added, does the post remain viable at the top of the dashboard until it is accepted or rejected?  Or if a user fails to respond to the invitation request, does it only show a limited number of times when the user logs in into Canvas i.e. if a user logs into Canvas, ignores the invitation, logs out, and then logs in again will the invitation still show on the second, third, or fourth time, etc. that they log in?

Leaving aside the fact that the user will have received an email for the invitation, I am just trying to work out why some users seem to miss course invitations and I am wondering how long the dashboard invitations remain visible.  I hope this makes sense.

Hi @SMCK ...

I am not 100% certain of this, but I *think* that those course invitations remain on the Canvas Dashboard or on the top of the course "Home" page until a student clicks on the button to accept the invitation.  So, even if a student was invited to a course several months ago and still hadn't clicked on the button to accept the course invite, I *think* it will remain there until a student had taken action on the message.
