Math symbols/formulas in multiple dropdowns answer choices in quizzes

Is there a way to include symbols and formulas for multiple dropdown type questions in quizzes? I know there is an edit option for multiple choice type, but I am doing hypothesis testing steps question and need to include symbols and formulas into multiple dropdown choices. Thank you.

I am working with a faculty member who also has the same issue. Have you found any answers or workarounds?

You can copy (from a word doc, for example) and paste. This works for symbols, like µ, but I have not tried it for formula that would need more than just symbols.
