I am an instructor. Is there a setting so that students and instructor can be notified when someone asks a question on a discussion board? The goal is this: To set up one place for questions that the instructor can respond to universally instead of individually. Thank you.

Hi @Ame3 ...
Users (instructors and students) can set up their notification settings for their entire Canvas account and per course. There are three different notification settings for discussion topics: New Topic, New Reply, and New Mention (only available in the revised design of discussion topics ... not everyone has this just yet). Users have to configure these notifications on their own. For example, instructors cannot configure notification settings for their students. Here are some Guides:
