Outcomes Report by Assignment

I am a lecturer, and we are using Outcomes to assess if students are learning certain subjects.  Currently, we have access to individual student outcome numbers, as well as the average for our class for each Outcome.  What would be most useful to the teacher is the Outcome numbers by assignment.  This would allow us to look at each assignment and see if they are accomplishing what we have designed.

I have not been able to find that report and have been told by my university that this functionality isn't available.

The functionality to view a report of Outcome numbers by assignment is not a standard feature in Canvas's native reporting for instructors. Your university's IT staff were correct in telling you that this report isn't available out of the box.

However, there are workarounds and alternative methods to get this data. The most common and direct method for a lecturer is to use the Learning Mastery Gradebook. While it doesn't give you a single report for all assignments, it does allow you to assess and view outcomes related to specific assignments. Another method is through Canvas's API, but this requires technical expertise and is often handled by university staff or a developer.
