Peer Review

I have an assignment where students need to provide a rubric score but when I look at the student view (and this has also been reported to me from students in the class) that they can not do anything with the rubric (i.e., the comment boxes and score boxes are not there). I don't know how to fix this. Has anyone had this issue? I've attached the assignment setup and a screenshot of the student view.

Thank you for attaching those screenshots.  The file called "Screenshot.png" appears to be from below your assignment instructions (when viewing the assignment).  Am I making a correct assumption here?  If so, this is not where your students would be doing the peer review.  Assuming that you have your peer review assignment set up correctly, your students would use this Guide to complete the peer review:

How do I submit a peer review to an assignment? - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)

As you can see from this Guide, students can open up the rubric to use as a peer review on the right side of their screen (see the section on "Complete Rubric").

Hopefully, this will help with any possible confusion.  Please keep us posted here in the Community...thanks!

@Chris_Hofer The students have attempted to do this following those exact directions, but they do not see a way to actually enter the scores from the rubric that is posted. As a note, there was a previous assignment where students uploaded a paper, and this second assignment is connected to that. The Peer Review assignment was not set up as something students needed to submit. They were instructed to grade using the rubric to score the same paper (which also had a peer review component). Since peer reviewers had the same paper for both (just two different rubrics) I didn't see a reason for the to re-upload the same paper for the journal review peer review rubric. Hope this makes sense.

First assignment: Students submitted a paper, it was peer reviewed

Second assignment: students did not upload anything, but peer reviewers had a different rubric that needed to be submitted.

Thank you for the additional information.  Although I'm not 100% certain, I *think* the issue is that something needs to be submitted to that second assignment in order for your students to use the rubric to do a peer review.  The very first paragraph in the light blue box of the Guide that I shared in my earlier response states the following:

Your instructor may require you to submit a peer review of another student's assignment. To complete the assignment, you must review the student's assignment and add a comment in the comment sidebar.

If nothing has been submitted to that second assignment, then how would the students who are completing the peer review know how to use the rubric for peer review?

I hope I'm understanding things correctly.  If not, please let us know here in the Community.
