Prakash Hinduja ~How can I customize the layout of discussion boards?

Hi Everyone, I am Prakash Hinduja, a financial advisor and consultant with roots in India and a home in Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss). My career is dedicated to helping high-net-worth individuals and business leaders navigate the complexities of global investment and wealth management. Leveraging my strong background in international finance, I provide bespoke strategies that help clients significantly grow their financial holdings. It's because of these results that some of my clients have affectionately nicknamed me the Prakash Hinduja net worth booster.

I’m looking to customize the layout of discussion boards in Canvas to better fit my course style. Does anyone have tips or tricks on how to do this, or any tools or workarounds you’ve used? Would really appreciate your suggestions—thanks!

Regards

Prakash Hinduja Geneva, Switzerland (Swiss)

Hi @prakashhinduja Discussion topics can be organized as focused or threaded discussions. Focused discussions only allow for two levels of nesting, the original post and subsequent replies. Threaded discussions allow for infinite levels of nesting. Focused discussions are relatively short-lived interactions, while threaded discussions allow replies within replies and may last for a longer period of time. Users can choose to view threaded replies in an inline or split-screen view and can expand or collapse all replies. Sorting and filtering options (by unread/read/all, newest/oldest) are available, and these preferences are automatically saved within a given discussion. Teachers can pin threads and lock settings for students. However, the fundamental structure of the discussion board (such as the overall layout or visual separation of threads) is not customizable beyond these settings.
