I am editing an existing page and I am deleting several course links in the Rich Content Editor. However, I can still see the old course links in the HTML editor.
I am familiar with HTML and I am capable of editing the page. My question is, instead of cleaning it using the HTML editor afterward, is there any way/trick to prevent it?

Not sure exactly of your procedure for editing the pages in the RCE, but what I do is left click (right click works also to see the options, but it also gives the browser drop down for right click on something) on the link in the RCE and select remove link and then I delete the text. That should prevent the links from being left behind when editing.
