My assignments category is disabled.  How do I enable students to see assignments?

Crystal,

I assume you mean the Assignments course navigation item on the left side of Canvas.  If there are no assignments in it it will appear disabled automatically.  If you have Assignments present (and published) and it's still showing as hidden, go to your course Settings and then the Navigation tab.  Disabled items are towards the bottom.  Simply drag Assignments to the upper section and then Save.  Here is a guide page about it https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-12933-415257079
