Random Peer Review notification emails

I have had a few students inquire about emails they have received from Canvas to peer review certain discussions and assignments. However, when I check on my end, the assignments/discussions do not include the peer review portion (which is good, because I didn't want them to). Why are my students receiving these incorrect emails? Can I do anything to stop them? The emails are causing a lot of confusion.

Have they forwarded the emails to you?  I wonder if the emails would provide more information with hints/clues as to where it's coming from.
