I was told the reading tool voice can be changed so that it doesn’t sound like a computer. I do not see this option.

Good afternoon, @KadenHillerman ...

Are you asking about the "Immersive Reader" function that is available on content "Pages" of a Canvas course?  If so, you can change the voice from male to female (or female to male).  You can also slow down or speed up the pace of the voice.  Check out one of these Guides:

You'll notice in one of the screen shots that at the bottom of the "Immersive Reader" interface there is a "Play" button along with a speaker button with a gear/cog wheel icon next to it.  Click on that speaker icon, and you'll get options that I've described above.
