[ARCHIVED] Reset Wrong Course!!!!

I went to role my old course into my new.  Before doing it I went to reset course content and I must have clicked on the wrong course!   Is there anything I can do to get back all the work I did last semester?

Maybe?  Here's something that you can try.  Sign in to your school's "test" or "beta" environment.  These two environments are different than the normal "production" environment that you normally sign in to on a daily basis.

• How do I access the Canvas test environment as an instructor? 
• How do I access the Canvas beta environment as an instructor? 

In the "test" or "beta" environment, you could export the course.  Then, sign out of the "test" or "beta" environment.  Sign back in to your school's "production" environment, and then import the course export that you harvested from the "test" or "beta" environment.

• How do I import a Canvas course export package?

Yay!   My admin got me into the sandbox, downloaded the export, sent it to me and I uploaded it.  Thank you for the quick reply, classes start Tuesday and I would have had nothing!

If I click on reset student on student view, while in a course, could I recover what students did, or they should start again? Thank you

Hi @LauraRO_TEIDE,

The "reset student" button in student view only resets the "Test Student" account itself. This is useful if perhaps you already used the test student to try a certain assignment/quiz, but you want to do it again.  The button has no affect on any actual students in the course, so there should be nothing they'd need to do again.  Hopefully I understood your question correctly and this helps out!
