Rubric Building - English (High School)
In English (High School) there is sub criterias for each Criteria. Is it possible to create the sub-criteria for each criterion. E.g. Criteria 1 would have 3 sub criterias
Steps to Developing Rubics
Step 1: Review Learning Objectives.
Step 2: List Performance Criteria.
Step 3: Describe Levels of Quality for Each Criterion.
Step 4: Develop a Grid.
Step 5: Add a Descriptor or Numerical Score to Each Performance Level.
Step 6: Practice Using the Rubric.
Step 7: Share the Rubric with Students.
You've posted your response in the Canvas Community website where people from all over the world come to ask questions about the Canvas LMS (Learning Management System) and collaborate with others. People also do things like check out written and video tutorials about Canvas as well as submit Feature Ideas for enhancements to Canvas. Your response doesn't seem to relate specifically to Canvas rubrics, and so it seems that you may have posted your response by mistake or to an incorrect discussion board about rubrics.
If we can help you with anything related to Canvas rubrics, please let us know.
Unfortunately, Canvas rubrics do not really allow you to make sub-criteria like you describe. You'd probably need to do some of your own manual adding of text to each criterion in your rubric...such as:
...or whatever you wanted to do. But, as far as I know, nothing would be indented within the rubric as a visual to let your students know that some things are a sub-set of the row above it.
Sorry I don't have better news for you...but maybe you can develop some kind of work-around that might be usable for your needs in your course. Good luck, and let Community members know if you have any other questions about this...thanks!
