Is anyone else having trouble adding a pre-created rubric to an assignment? It will not let me add or even search for an already created rubric to add to my assignment. Wondering if this is a canvas issue or an issue on my side.  When I click on find a rubric nothing happens.

I just tested adding an existing rubic to an assignment that I have in my own sandbox course, and I was able to add it without any issues.  Have you tried clearing your browser cache/history, closing your browser, and then restarting your browser?

Or, have you tried using a different browser such as Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome?  I've also had good success with Microsoft Edge on my Windows 11 laptop.

If none of this works, you might want to reach out to Canvas Support to see if they have any suggestions for you.

No luck, unfortunately. I honestly feel like it is a pop-up block that is blocking it for some reason. I am going to try it at home with my personal computer and network and see if it works then. Maybe it is a district blocker causing the issue. Thanks again for your help, if I get it figured out I will post it here.

I am having a similar issue. If an assignment is using an external tool it will let me create criteria but it will not let me look up or use my preset outcomes. I have to delete the external tool. Save add the rubric using my outcomes and then go back in and read. It's quite frustrating when trying to update older assignments and really doesn't fix the initial issue of adding the ability to make rubrics for assignments using external tools.

Just had the same problem. When I clicked +rubric on the bottom it just turned blue but nothing happened. Solution was to edit the assignment text as HTML and remove the code which said DIV "Rubric" something like that and it works now.
